Polestar has confirmed that the Polestar 6 electric roadster concept car will be produced. The Polestar 6 will replace the Roadster concept car in 2026, but interested customers in active Polestar markets can make an appointment to put the car together starting today, August 16.

"Due to the enormous response from consumers and the press, we decided to put this incredible roadster into production. I am thrilled to be able to accomplish this project." "The Polestar 6 is a great combination of tremendous electric performance and the joy of fresh air that comes with an open car," says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar's CEO.

The Polestar O2 concept car, unveiled in Los Angeles in March, expands on the design, technological, and sustainability aspirations set for the Polestar Precept concept car and showcases Polestar's vision for the future of sports cars.

Polestar's custom-made bonded aluminum platform will be the foundation for the hardtop convertible. The electric sports car, which was developed in-house, will be outfitted with the high-performance 800-Volt electric architecture that was previously designed for the Polestar 5. The Polestar 6 LA Concept edition has a dual-motor drivetrain with up to 650 kW (884 horsepower) and 900 Nm, a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h.

To commemorate the debut, a limited-edition LA Concept special edition of 500 numbered pieces will be made under the name "Polestar 6 LA Concept edition." The Polestar 6 electric sports cars are painted "Sky," with a colorful leather interior and the original Polestar O2 concept car's unusual 21-inch wheels.

Polestar's participation in the automobile events Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and The Quail at Monterey Car Week in California on the 18th–21st of August 2022, is also marked by the announcement of the Polestar O2's production.

The Polestar 6's technical sheet and specifications will be released in 2026.
